LASO Prom at Montclair State University
The Latin American Student Organization (LASO) of Montclair State University held their 4th annual LASO prom. The event was held in the Student Center Ballrooms of Montclair State University; the party was on November 8th 2012. This is an annual event LASO hosts along with others cosponsoring student organizations to fund raise for Relay for Life. In addition to fundraising for relay for life, donations were collected for the Sandy Relief Fund. Admission to the event included a delicious menu, dancing and live entertainment. This year’s theme for LASO prom was “Noche en Havana” (Night in Havana).
The following are the cosponsors to the event: Lambda Tau Omega (LTO), Lambda Theta Alpha (LTA), Global Medical Brigades, International Student Organization,Sigma Delta Phi, Marketing Club, Chi Upsilon Sigma (Cussies), Delta Xi Delta. This was the first year LASO has an outside sponsor to this event, and that sponsor was Audience Pleasers. Audience Pleasers provided the decorations for the theme of the event. Audience Pleasers provided a three piece tropical scene backdrop, four palm trees and topical skirts.
The event consisted of many festivities. There was a Latin American cultural dance performed by the the LASO dance team (Latinisimo), prizes were raffled, delicious food was served, a LASO king and Queen were crowned, and of course, LOTS and LOTS of dancing!
LASO was founded in 1970 in Montclair State. It is a student ran organization that inspires leadership and growth to all Students by programming Latin American derived cultural events and informative and influential workshops. Audience Pleasers is one of the leading event and entertainment producing companies that holds entertainment- related projects for corporations, associations, charitable organizations and private individuals. In the end, LASO’s 4th annual LASO prom was a complete success, and Audience Pleasers is happy to have been a part of this event, and also, to have been a part of the amazing causes fund raising for Relay for Life, and Sandy Relief Fund.
