Halloween Country Western Hoe Down
Members of Audience Pleasers’ crew had the pleasure of creating “A Spooky Country Western Halloween Birthday Party” at the Garfield VFW, for a 6 year old local girl. The children, and their parents, entered into our Western Town that resembled a ghost town and more.
As a surprise to all, and to add to the Halloween spirit of the event, we arranged to have a presentation of live Fruit Bats, originally from Madagascar, named Baby, Louie, and Charlie. The attendees learned about bats and their impact on limiting New Jersey’s crop damaging insects. However, the most fun part was feeding the trio some fresh fruit.
Among dozens of orange and black balloon clusters, with in the confines of the hall, out staff placed Country Western buildings, such as a jail, barn, bank, hotel, watering holes, livery stable, along with a few cornstalks, lanterns, cowboy boots, and lots of artificial hay bales. What is a western setting without a Wanted Poster? So our crew added huge cut outs of Wanted Signs for the guest to poke their heads into for great photo shots, as well as a covered wagon, bull and carriage, added to the photo taking fun.
We provided a Cotton Candy and Popcorn Machine manned by an attendant dress in full Rodeo Clown outfit. Other members of Audience Pleasers crew, were dressed as cowboys and other Western characters to complete the western atmosphere.
Audience Pleasers’ signature 3 story pumpkin backdrop, along with skeletons, ghosts, bats, spider webs, strobe and colored lights, and a smoke machine added to an eerie atmosphere.
